Activities 2023

The Festivalito program consists of numerous activities distributed throughout the week of the
contest and then continues with the Festivalito Tour.

Filmmakers, actresses and actors, technicians, musicians, DJs and professionals from the
audiovisual sector and performing arts, go to the Festivalito creating an unforgettable experience
for the public and participants.

“La Palma Rueda” Short Movie Contest

In each edition, the Festivalito challenges lmmakers, actresses, actors and technicians from all over the world to face the challenge of devising, nding the locations and forming a technical and artistic team to shoot and edit an audiovisual piece during the week of the
meeting. The stories must be inspired by a motto that is read at the opening ceremony. All the short lms made are projected on the big screen on the closing weekend of the festival.

Cinerama Screenings

Screenings of lms and audiovisual works in the cinemas, theatres, squares, streets, schools, senior citizens’ centres, beaches and volcanos of the island of La Palma. Artisan lms capable of creating social and cultural values, and that conceive the seventh art as a weapon of expression and dissemination for social change.

Festivalito Sonora

Sound experimentation and audiovisual experimentation.

Verbena music and concerts of urban music, electro rock, indie or world music, with local, national and international artists in squares and natural stages of the island.

Festivalito Lab

Days of activities related to the audiovisual industry, aimed at promoting the meeting between artists and emerging professionals, training and promoting the audiovisual sector.

Campus Festivalito

Audiovisual cre-active workshops in which creativity is focussed as a tool for audiovisual action, especially the one that can be done with new technologies and through the Internet.


Experimentation on the big screen with formats that break traditional genres and create sets in innovative scenes that call for the participation of the viewer.

At the Opening Ceremony, the Polar Star Awards are given to those artists, personalities or institutions that follow the philosophy, values and ideals of the Festivalito.

At the Closing Ceremony, the La Palma Rueda Filming Contest Awards are given to the most outstanding short films.

Tour Festivalito

Itinerant exhibition of the most outstanding shorts shot during the week of the Festivalito by the Canarian, national and international circuit of film festivals, cultural centres and schools.
