Official Section - Fiction Films in competition
The best films of cine chico (small size cinema) from the international panorama will compete in this section.
The Festivalito will present this section of films as a demonstration of the many different ways that exist to appreciate filmmaking.
The films cannot have been commercially shown in Spain.
Out of all of the digital cinema, we give the most importance to cine chico, because we consider it the most avant-garde cinema at present and highly popular.
Cine chico are small size movies: handmade, small crew, small cameras.., although this does not necessarily mean that they are low-budget films.
Normally, these type of productions are carried out in digital format, which has made the revolution in the film industry possible.
We are looking for films that aside from being cine chico, also change the production structures of filmmaking, innovate from narrative fronts as well as investigate new aesthetic schemes.
In a word, we are looking for movies that have done things in a different way and which final result is excellent and avant-garde.
Nowadays, thanks to the digital revolution, anyone can get behind a camera and tell a story. Anyone can, but that does not mean that everyone knows how to do it, or that all the indie digi movies must be exhibited to the whole world.
Cinema belongs to everyone and is for everyone, but remember that this is a film festival and we are obliged to be rigorous.
This section, MONDO CHICO, includes only feature films.
If your film is traditional, amateur or has technical or artistic deficiencies, this is not your section.
If you have shot your film adhering to the guidelines of cine chico and you believe that you have broken boundaries in the film industry, do not hesitate to send us a copy to watch.
Good luck and we hope the best cine chico / indie digital films are chosen.
