GUERRILLA FILMMAKING - NON OFFICIAL SECTION

Festivalito has thought up this section for all of those directors and actors who want to live out a unique experience writing, shooting, editing and showing a short film during the week of Festivalito, but are not officially invited.

All you have to do is sign up, come to the island and accept the challenge.
All of those who decide to participate and register will automatically be qualified for the different screenings of the Festivalito.

And there are also prizes, so pluck up courage and participate.
If you are from La Palma, you will have a lot to prove!
If you are from abroad, you will have a lot to discover!

REGULATION

POPULAR MARATHON

RULES OF THE GAME

I. PARTICIPATION
Directors and actors from any nationality are able to participate.

II. ENTRY FORM
The Participants have to fill in the entry form

III. EXPENSES
The organization will not be responsible for the travel and the stay of the participants during the Festivalito week. But they will get free tickets for all the screenings

IV. REQUIREMENTS
Premieres of all short films will be shown in the Close Ceremony.

To be able to enter the contest:
-The shooting must be done showing a minimum of 50% of the landscapes of the island of La Palma
- The duration can not be less than 60 seconds, nor more than 5 minutes (including credits)

V. MATERIALS
The participants must bring their own camera and mic, laptop and they will have to look for actors/actresses.
Overall, the officially invited actors taking part in the section La Palma Rueda will not be able to take part in the Popular Marathon (Maratón Popular).
We hope that you understand it. They also should have time to breathe and enjoy the rest of activities of the festival. The organization will give a list of the actor/actress who live in La Palma.

VI. SLOGAN

The short films should all have attached a slogan that will be announced during the Opening Ceremony.

VII. DEADLINE

All productions should be presented within the time period established by the organisation, which will be announced at the start of the contest.

To be submitted:
A copy of the short in the designated format which will be announced at the start of the contest
Technical and artistic form (which can be downloaded from the web page)

VIII. COPIES
All directors are committed to handing in a copy to the actors and the individuals involved in the filming as required before the end of the Festivalito.
Any director that is not able to fulfil this requirement risks being eliminated from the contest.
The organisation is not responsible for the request of the copies.

IX. RECOMMENDATION
Owing to past experiences, the organisation recommends you to be influenced by the island of La Palma, to pinpoint the number of shots without filming more than one short.
Not forgetting to live out the rest of the Festivalito.

X. JURY
The jury will be chosen by the organisation of the Festivalito and will be made up of by well-known prestigious figures in the film industry.

XI. AWARDS
The following awards will be handed out during the closing ceremony:

- ESTRELLA OF THE JURY TO THE SHORT FILM.
- SPECIAL MENTION OF THE JURY TO THE ACTOR.
- SPECIAL MENTION OF THE JURY TO THE ACTRESS.
All short films should mention in the closing credits:
Produced at the Festivalito
International Cine Chico Canarias Festival*Island of La Palma.

The winning films should include in the advertising, closing credits of the short film, on the cover of the copies made to be sold or rented, the Award won as well as: “FESTIVALITO: INTERNATIONAL CINE CHICO DE CANARIAS FESTIVAL-ISLAND OF LA PALMA“.

XII. ACEPTACIÓN DE BASES

The Director/Producer authorises the organizer of the Festivalito to distribute the short film exclusive of commercial purposes and with the objective of promoting the event.
The participation in the contest Maratón Popular involves the complete acceptance of these regulations, as well as the resolution by the Organisation about any other subject not indicated in the above regulations.
